Psalm 27

Of David.

The Lord is my light(A) and my salvation(B)
    whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold(C) of my life—
    of whom shall I be afraid?(D)

When the wicked advance against me
    to devour[a] me,
it is my enemies and my foes
    who will stumble and fall.(E)
Though an army besiege me,
    my heart will not fear;(F)
though war break out against me,
    even then I will be confident.(G)

My heart says of you, “Seek his face!(C)

Do not reject me or forsake(G) me,
    God my Savior.(H)
10 Though my father and mother forsake me,
    the Lord will receive me.
11 Teach me your way,(I) Lord;
    lead me in a straight path(J)
    because of my oppressors.(K)
12 Do not turn me over to the desire of my foes,
    for false witnesses(L) rise up against me,
    spouting malicious accusations.

13 I remain confident of this:
    I will see the goodness of the Lord(M)
    in the land of the living.(N)
14 Wait(O) for the Lord;
    be strong(P) and take heart
    and wait for the Lord.

Now this I know:
    The Lord gives victory to his anointed.(A)
He answers him from his heavenly sanctuary
    with the victorious power of his right hand.(B)
Some trust in chariots(C) and some in horses,(D)
    but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.(E)
They are brought to their knees and fall,(F)
    but we rise up(G) and stand firm.(H)
Lord, give victory to the king!
    Answer us(I) when we call!
